YOU ARE A QUITTER!
Sounds pretty negative right?
What if I told you I used to smoke thirty cigarettes a day and I stopped doing that, would you still connect the words ‘you are a quitter’ to negatives?
Of course not! It is a play on words that helps me to lead you into thoughts of negativity when you read the opening line as you know all too well.
How does this relate to a person who is actually trying to stop smoking? Well, when you quit smoking your mind plays all kinds of tricks on you to get that little blast of nicotine that it desires. Perhaps you have seen it in action yourself as a smoker? You give up smoking for a while using electronic cigarettes, Zyban or patches but when you cut down on the dosage or stop the treatment you find yourself saying “one cigarette won’t hurt”
It does, one cigarette hurts a lot! That one cigarette may be the cause of your continued smoking for the next few years which in turn may result in you dying many years earlier than you would have if you had never put it in your mouth.
You need to find emotion in your battle to stop smoking, while it is fine to use stop smoking aids there is no replacement for feelings to assist you.
Do you have children? If so, use this as motivation. Do you want your children to watch you die? Do you want to watch your children grow up and develop into the person you always dreamed they would be? Not possible if you force an early death sentence on yourself through cigarettes.
Morbid? No, realistic! Thousands of people die this way every year and many more thousands have to watch them go through death. If you do not want to face that in an article, quit now because you and your loved ones may have to face it as a reality one day.
