Train your dog with ease

One of the biggest problems that many dog trainers as well as owners face when they are working to train a grown up dog is the ability of the dog to bite back — which even when done playfully can lead to disastrous consequences. So, long story short, here is the solution to that very problem —  plastic basket muzzles. While this solution is great for dogs that might bite you when they are being trained, you should look at other ways to restrain your dog if your dog has a history of aggression or has been party to some violent outburst over the span of their life. There is a common misconception that muzzles make dogs aggressive. This is simply a case consequence following cause (and logic) instead of the other way round. It is always the aggressive dogs that end up with muzzles — hence the reason teat pretty much every dog with a leather or a wire mesh muzzle will be aggressive and the muzzle is a measure against the aggression not the cause of it.

If your dog is relatively loving and you are taking them out for a walk without a leash, you should consider putting a muzzle on them. This is done not only for the safety of others (there may be young children in the park) but also for your own dog’s safety as well. You wouldn’t want to be slapped with lawsuits and the like in case something untoward happens. ‘Owner negligence’ is what they will call it and trust me it’ll come back.

You are obviously concerned about the comfort of your pet when using a muzzle. However, with plastic muzzles you needn’t worry at all. Just like plastic storage boxes, they are made out of soft plastic and as long as you get the right muzzle size, you and your dog will only have a joyous training experience.

How To Get Your Husky Puppies To Sleep At Night

If you have recently brought home  new husky puppies or any puppies for that mater, then getting them to sleep through the night may be one of your biggest challenges. While your first instincts will probably be to comfort your pups by picking them up when they are crying, it’s important that you try and refrain from this as much as possible. Although it’s difficult, avoiding this behavior will help you and your puppies in the long run. Here are a few tips on what to do when your new puppies are crying during the night.

Although it may sound crazy, if you can handle it, getting more than one puppy is ideal. I wouldn’t have thought to do this until we adopted two husky puppies last year and saw how comforting they were to each other. Puppies are used to being with their litter. They enjoy the warmth and security of laying on top of each other. Being taken away from their mother and their siblings can be very traumatic for a new puppy. Most puppies will cry at night because they miss the comfort of their brothers and sisters. Having two or more puppies will certainly help them get through the first few nights in their new environment.

If you can’t handle more than one pup, which is a big responsibility, you’ll want to get your puppy a crate. A lot of people think that crates are “mean” or only used for punishment. This can’t be further from the truth. When you get your puppy used to a crate from the beginning, they will think of the crate as their “house.” The crate will become a safe place for them to relax. Crate training is easy and beneficial if done from the get go. We were surprised to find that our dogs loved to escape to their crates long after they were aloud to roam free through out the house for long periods of time.

Another tip that you can use with your puppy’s crate is to put one of your old shirts or pillow cases in the crate for your puppy to sleep with. They will recognize your scent and this will be very comforting to them. This will really help them relax and get some sleep.
