Gardens are commonly portrayed in film and photography as beautiful areas of vibrant life and color. While this may be true, they can also be a place of serene beauty which can be enjoyed in solitude. Being in the presence of a garden at night is an interesting experience which everyone should be a part of. The reason why more people don’t do it is that their gardens become pitch black after the sun goes down. This can be remedied with the addition of garden lighting fixtures. These lights can be used to accent plants and structures within a garden for all to enjoy. Accenting key areas brings out the best in a garden and is easy to do.
Plant spotlights provide an excellent way to showcase certain plants or structures in your garden. Spot lights use a powerful light bulb which creates a strong beam of light. Unlike flood lights which light up a wide area, spot lights focus on a relatively small space. When used in numbers, they can make a bold impact. Things to accent with a spot light include trees, bushes, flower patches, brick edging, rocks and boulders, columns, ponds, gazebos and water fountains. By shining this beam from the ground up, it creates a surreal look. Users can strategically position the light to cast the object’s silhouette upon the area behind it.
Wired systems require the users to route underground power lines to each light. The lights all connect to a low voltage power source which can be connected to a timer or light sensor. Solar powered spot lights are more convenient because they don’t require a land power source- they get all the power they need from the sun. The lights work independently from each other and turn themselves on and off. Users are not limited by the length of a wire and can therefore position the lights however they please.
Rustic outdoor lighting fixtures also look great among garden plants.
