Spongebob Squarepants is probably well-known to you already, if you have a young child, as he has been keeping young kids amused with his adventures for over ten years. He is, of course, a bright yellow animated sea sponge, who lives in a pineapple on the ocean floor with his pet snail Gary and he has fun and gets into scrapes with his friend Patrick, a star fish. These colorful characters feature on many products but if you are looking for a comforter or sheets for young kids, you will surely have come across colorful Spongebob bedding, which has been available and popular for some time.
With not much effort, you can find absolutely everything with a Spongebob theme in a store or online. Whether you want every bed sheet, blanket, comforter, curtain, rug and wall to be covered with the character is up to you (and probably how much your child nags you for yet another Spongebob accessory). You can keep things simple and just buy a comforter or bed cover and pillow case with the theme and then buy quality solid colored sheets to tone in. You can let the character take over the room and have your walls covered in Spongebob wallpaper or stickers or just paint them yellow and put up a poster!
On the other hand you may just want to surprise your child with a completely over the top theme you know will go down a treat and not worry about budget or good interior design principles (other than delight the customer!) You can still take the base color of walls and other items if you like from colors in the bedding and the design will stay in theme.
With all the merchandise available online and in stores your own problem may be deciding what to leave out. Your child will insist on wanting every bedding sheet and cheap rug while you are weighing up your budget and whether cotton percale sheets like your mother taught you, would be a better idea than character bedding that your child will grow out of.
It’s all a question of compromise between what you and your child would like but if you choose Spongebob bedding for the bedroom, there is at least one thing that will make your child happy even if you don’t have a room which is totally over the top.
