Summer is the time for outdoor activities and many meals are enjoyed outdoors. Often insects can be a bother at these meals and bug spray can be too strong to allow you to still enjoy the food over the smell of the spray. Citronella candles are a better choice for keeping bugs away and citronella votive candles do a good job of being a personal bug candle for each place setting. They are small and easily fit at each place setting to provide protection from insects and bugs for each person at the meal.
If sitting on the deck or patio is a nightly ritual for you the need for insect repellant has already been noticed and again small votive candles strategically placed around your table or chairs can help make the evening even more pleasant then it already is by keeping mosquitoes at bay and relieving you from itchy bug bites. Citronella has been around a long time and its main use has been for insect repellant. It is EPA approved as a natural insect repellant and declared for humans. Depending in how many candles are in use there should be very little odor associated with burning these candles and only the insects should be affected by the smell.
The small votive candles are relatively inexpensive to purchase and hardware stores and discount stores normally have the citronella candles as part of their seasonal summer stock. If you need a lot of them they can be purchased in bulk and a 144 case lot should come down to less than fifty cents per each candle. Shopping around on the internet may even find a cheaper price than that. Don’t let insects and bugs takeover your summer evenings and meals outdoors, fight back with citronella candle they are unobtrusive to you, but will give the insects fits and convince them to go else where to find their victims.
