Cheap Flower Delivery Tips

When you want to give flowers, you always feel like you face a difficult tradeoff between getting the nicest flowers and buying an affordable arrangement.  Flowers prices fluctuate with the season and with demand.  Sometimes you can plan ahead to get flowers at cheaper times, but other times you need flowers in a hurry.  Regardless of your situation, you can be sure you are getting cheap flower delivery by following a couple simple tips.

In Season Flowers

Those of us who buy a lot of fresh produce are very familiar with the idea that growing things have seasons and are more plentiful at certain times of year.  Most of us are not very familiar with flower seasons, or how commercial greenhouse growing might affect these seasons, but your local florist should know.  As most of us would expect, there are more flowers in season in the spring and summer than there are in the winter, but beautiful arrangements are available year round.  Your two best sources of information on flowers will be your local florist or Internet sites dedicated specifically to flower delivery.  If you want to design your own special arrangement, you should go to your local florist.  If you’re happy with a pre-determined arrangement, check out some websites.

Beware Hidden Charges

Those familiar with online shopping will be well aware that the price you are quoted isn’t always a good indicator of the best deal.  Hidden shipping charges can be excessive, and little add-ons can add up quickly.  Paying close attention to all of the extra charges and comparing the final prices of your potential arrangements is the only way to be sure you are getting the best deal.  Ordering through your local florist is possible, but you will probably have to pay 15 dollars or so extra for deliveries outside of the local area.  When you compare prices, make sure that you are comparing equal features.  If one arrangement comes with a vase and you have to pay extra for a vase with the other one, it is not quite an equal comparison.  Ultimately you want to get the best deal which means paying the least for what you need, not buying features you don’t need or getting surprised by extra charges.

These tips can help cut down your flower bill no matter what your situation.  How will you use all of that money you save?  Will you buy party bags for an event you host or will you buy the supplies to start your own flower garden?
