Probably, in today’s era, especially since we are in the so-called Y generation wherein the most dominant number of individuals in the population is the youth, computer games are not something that is unpopular. Everybody knows the existence of computer games and the fun that it brings to the player. To get to know more about unblocked games, let us take a little flashback to the previous decades.

It was in the year 1940’s when the first ever computer game was introduced to the public. It was designed to be played on Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) by Thomas T. Goldsmith, Jr. and Estle Ray Mann. It was typical and very simple game which was more on wars and simulated missiles which was probably inspired by the ongoing World War. Then in the 1950’s, more developments were introduced into the gaming system, inspired with a thesis of a human-computer interaction. It was in 1958 when William Higinbotham created a game dubbed as Tennis for Two, which showed a simplified tennis court from the side, on an oscilloscope to entertain visitors at Brookhaven National Library in new York. The game was manipulated by two bulky controllers outfitted with a knob for trajectory and a button for firing the ball over the net. It has been noted that such game was thought to be the simplest game of all time and the apprenticeship of video games. Later, more sophisticated and more influential games were modified and introduced into the market ranked first by Spacewar, which was made available through the combined forces of MIT students and Steve Russell. Such game was presented at the MIT Science Open House in 1962 and became to be the first widely available and influential game. Again more innovations and creations of more entertaining computer games were introduced in the succeeding years. However, because of the higher costs to purchase such gadgets, only the elite and the class A populace were able to enjoy computer games in the early days.

The LEGO Midi-Scale Millennium Falcon: A Must-Have!

The midi-scale Millennium Falcon is one my favorite LEGO Star Wars sets out there. This is true for a few reasons, including the general aura of the Falcon, the useful size, and its price, too.

The Millennium Falcon Itself:

There is nary a Lucas arts fan out there who does not remember this heap of junk. Legendarily capable of point-five past light speed, thanks to Han Solo’s “special modifications”, this ship was a central feature in the original films. There are so many famous scenes connected with it. Just remember Luke with the light saber and the blast shield, feeling his way with the Force for the first time. Alternatively, escaping the mouth of the asteroid worm – “I’m not sure this asteroid is entirely stable!”. On the other hand, the scenes with Han and Leia, for that matter, which had a really touching humanity to them, especially compared with similar scenes in some of the more recent prequels. The Falcon is just dripping with memories and that intangible “cool” factor.

The Midi-Scale Size:

You may have seen some far more elaborate versions of the Millennium Falcon before, and they are certainly impressive, but the problem has always been that they are too large, heavy and fragile to play with easily. You cannot, for example, zoom one of those around the room with one hand, with a TIE Fighter chasing it in the other. Part of the beauty of this smaller design is the ability to be much more involved with the flying and combat aspects of the Falcon, rather than just the indoor scenes.

The Price:

The larger models can be very expensive, also. Despite featuring moving parts like a rotating radar dish and two laser cannons that can be aimed, the price of this smaller variant is quite reasonable. Due to its smaller size, it does not include any minifigures (who would be out of scale), but this only lowers the price further. Overall, it is a lovely model that neatly captures the aura of the original. If you like that LEGO set than you will also enjoy the LEGO 8097 Slave I set as it is from the same original series of Star Wars flicks.
