I recently finished a book where the main character, an adolescent, determined that she would never have children because she didn’t want them to be exposed to the dangers of her world. I too have considered whether I am doing my children any favors by bringing them into this world. Moral decay is taken for granted and, in some instances, touted as a beneficial advancement.

Raising godly children in today’s world seems like an impossible task. The good news is that there are others in this world who take raising children seriously and who are also concerned about how their children will fare in today’s society. Raising children is made easier by being able to see the efforts of other parents who have the same goal, and being able to discuss with them the challenges that we all face. Synergy, or getting as many minds working on a problem as possible, virtually guarantees better results than trying to tackle every problem on your own. I, for one, am not an expert on how to raise children, so I appreciate the advice of my peers and the chance to share success stories in an effort to come up with better ways to face a variety of obstacles.

Lately, I have been concerned about modesty. This is just one of many challenges that comes up when raising children. I find that trying to attack every problem just makes me a frenzied madman, but trying to focus on one problem at a time gives me the ability to focus my energies and make progress toward real solutions.
