Another lawsuit against Takeda Pharmaceuticals is making headlines. Because of this decision, the case was also moved from the California court system to the Federal Courts.

The plaintiff began taking Actos for his type 2 diabetes in 2003. In 2010, he developed bladder cancer as a side effect of taking the drug. As a result, he is seeking over $75,000 in damages from Takeda Pharmaceuticals. He claims that the emotional and physical damages from taking Actos as well as the continued medical expenses of the resulting bladder cancer easily exceed this amount. The damages limit for state courts, however, is $75,000, another reason that the case was moved to Federal Courts.

This is just one of thousands of cases being brought against Takeda Pharmaceuticals by patients who took Actos to control their type 2 diabetes symptoms and developed bladder cancer as a result. These Actos lawsuits claim that Takeda knew or should have known about this potentially harmful side effect much earlier than the 2011 the F.D.A. warning about Actos bladder cancer.

My Anxiety Diet
