Are you new to the game of golf? If you are, you may not know some of the basic rules of this game. Therefore, we are going to elaborate on a few of them in this section. Don’t worry, golfing is fun game that really isn’t that complicated (once you understand the rules).
While we are sure that you understand the idea of the game (to hit the ball from the tee into the hole), you may not even realize how many holes are on the course. Very simply, a full round of golfing includes eighteen holes. Each hole is located on a well manicured portion of the course called a ‘green’. While you can use a driver and irons on the other portions of the golf course, you can only use a putter while on the green.
When you begin each hole, you will be ‘teeing off’ from the golfing tee. At this point, you will want to use a golf club called a driver.
Speaking of golf clubs, according to the American Golf Association, you are only allowed to use fourteen different golf clubs during the game. The composition of these fourteen golf clubs is up to the individual golfer. Therefore, it is very possible for two different golfers to have different types of golf clubs in their golf bags. With that said, you should make sure that you have a driver, a few irons, some wedges, and a putter.
Before we conclude, we wanted to talk about sand traps and water hazards. These items are put onto the golf course to make the game more challenging. Therefore, you will want to avoid them at all costs. We have seen numerous golfers waste valuable strokes trying to move their golf ball from a sand trap back onto the green.
We hope this section has been helpful in aiding you in learning some basic golfing terminology. If you have any further questions, feel free to stop by the Golf Cart Covers Guide.
