Are Marshall Amps The Best Choice?

Marshall Amplification is a British company founded by Jim Marshall in 1960. It is based in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, U.K. It is involved in designing and manufacturing guitar amplifiers. In the beginning, Marshall Amps were built as copies of Fender amplifiers but later included certain features which made it more popular to guitarists who want heavier sound. Marshall is presently producing a wide range of amps. The longest running model is the JCM2000, known as the Dual and Triple Super Leads, with 2 channels and 3 channels respectively. The latest modern amplifier is the JVM, designed for the newer breed of modern guitarists. Marshall also released a much simpler amplifier, called the Vintage Modern.

Marshall is renowned for its value guitar amps. It also produces many solid state and bass equipment. Its “Valvestate” amplifiers contained value and solid state technology that provides true valve tone. The “AVT” series are a number of models which are cheaper than their counterparts. The “MG” series, fully solid state amplifiers, are popular among new users for practice use and those on a tight budget. Marshall also markets miniature guitar amplifiers such as the “MS” series consisting of two amps, the MS-2 and the MS-4. They are small, portable and very affordable.

Nothing is cooler than coming into a gig and wheeling in a huge Marshall stack, plugging in your guitar, mashing everything on 10 and hitting a huge rock chord.  I can’t think of anything else in the music world that makes people’s head’s turn quite like this.

Aside from guitar amplifiers and speaker cabinets, Marshall Amplification also manufactures bass amplifiers. It is currently producing an all-valve bass rig known as “VBA400”. Two extension cabinets for the VBA have separate seated chambers inside. This is to avoid cabinet resonance. The cabinets look presentable and loaded with loudspeakers.

If you are looking to make noise, then Marshall Amps is the best choice.  Especially when plugged into something like a Slash 2010 Appetite Les Paul or even a Cort G250!
