Dogs are helpful and playful pets that usually takes advantage of the freedom of space of your lawn. They play around a lot and sometimes cause damage on your lawn. Plants and grasses are usually trampled on and sometimes, they dig holes out of habit. These dog hobbies usually become a problem in maintaining your lawn.
The grass on the lawn are supposed to be grown in slightly loose soil so that the roots can grow faster and deep enough. It allows air, nutrients and water to run into to grow healthier. Dogs can alter this condition by running around too much in the lawn that they cause impacted soils causing a less healthier growth of grasses or more severely, death of the grasses around the lawn. One common problem is pet spots or yellow patches. This happens when the dog urinated around the lawn all the time or around the premises. Dog urine is actually rich in nitrogen that promotes plant growth. But too much of this will damage the plants due to its concentrated acidity that it may cause burning of the plants and its roots, preventing it to grow or die eventually. One solution for repairing your lawn is to rinse all urine spots in your premises with water to neutralize the acidity of the urine. Another is to give your dog vitamins that will help lessen the acidity of their urine,this will also cause a much lesser foul smell of urea. And lastly, try to train your pet to urinate in one specific place with no plants or grass growing to prevent this problem.
